Antique Scottish pine cased long case clock with automata ship and rare alarm function.

13 Inch painted dial with famous Scots in the spandrels, Ramsey, Burns, Scott and Campbell.
The arch painted with a coastal scene and with a rocking ship moving in the centre.
Dial with Roman numerals, 2 subsiduary dials for date and seconds, brass hands and a third central hand for setting the alarm.


8-Day movement striking the hours on a bell, the alarm mechanism built within the movements plates, ringing on a second bell.


The case made of Scottish pine, with swan neck pediment, reeded columns to the hood and the trunk, standing on bracket feet.


Simon Forrest is recorded as working in Kirkfieldbank, Lanarkshire from 1800-1837
We had one of this maker’s, clocks in for repair some time ago, it had the same alarm mechanism in it.
