A small English Antique Regency nautical themed mantel clock

A small English Antique Regency nautical themed mantel clock. Circa 1830. F. Baetens, 89 Gerrard St, London. Gilt bronze case, depicting trade and commerce surmounted by a bale of cotton with a young sailor aside, his feathered hat and coin filled bag atop the bale, above a rectangular base with a frieze depicting putti employed in nautical trade, the whole standing on turned feet. The 3 inch dial with white enamel chapter ring and Roman numerals, engine turned dial centre and decorative bezel. 8-Day timepiece, single chain drive fuseƩ movement, signed on a plaque on the back plate, Baetons and also an engraved signature within the movement, directly onto the inside of the front plate. The movement has been cleaned, serviced and tested, it runs well. It has its original pendulum and a brass winding key. Dimensions; 11in / 28cm high, 8inches / 20cm wide, 3.75 inches / 9.5cm deep.
