Conical pendulum French mystery clock

A magnificent French bronze and marble conical pendulum clock, possibly exhibited at the Paris Exhibition of 1878. The movement signed E.FARCOT A PARIS. Circa 1875 Surmounted by a silvered bronze female figure in Classical dress, her right arm raised to hold the foliate bud and the pendulum terminating in a gilt sphere mounted with cast stars of different magnitudes, her left arm relaxed to the left side and clasping the folds of her dress which is bound by a gilt belt set high above the waist, the gilt dial with matted chapter ring applied with Roman numerals within a moulded brass bezel,the partially skeletonised frontplate reveaing the twin going barrel movement and contrate wheel in continous motion linked to an arbour that carries the arrow to rotate the pendulum above. 4 Foot High overall.
